The old orchard at the rear of 65 Pettitts Lane, now Swifts Close.

On 14th April 2020 Director Mark Dean (mark@deananddean.org.uk) warned neighbours that his firm would be opening a construction site at the rear of 65 Pettitts Lane, Dry Drayton, during the Coronavirus lockdown. On 27 April 2020 Dean and Dean started work to construct 10 houses on the site.

In the week commencing 14 March 2022 the first occupants started to move into what is now Swifts Close. This development, by Dyason Developments Limited, involved 22 planning applications over six years. These have generated a total of 441 documents and the different applications have resulted in 47 conditions being imposed by planners, some duplicating or superseding others. According to estate agents marketing these units, the developer's vision was "to bring city styling and architecture to the countryside, proving modernist features are not only to be found in urban developments".
